Hungarian Olympic Committee (HOC) President Krisztián Kulcsár received Algerian Olympic and Sport Committee President Mustapha Berraf at the HOC Headquarters. The two sport leaders talked about the continuation of Algerian athletes coming to Hungarian training camps, realized under the aegis of a partnership agreement signed last year.

President Kulcsár and IOC member and HOC Honorary President Pál Schmitt visited the African country in March 2018, where a fencing centre was named after the six-time Olympic and seven-time World Champion fencer Rudolf Kárpáti. The partnership agreement covers mutual training camp visits and coach trainings.

During the visit of President Berraf, the parties discussed the improvement of possibilities for female athletes. One such aspect is that 80 female youth gymnasts and swimmers will come from Algeria to Budapest in August to train for competitions amid perfect conditions.

The Algerian sport leader enjoys the hospitality of the Hungarian Olympic Committee as he spends a couple of days in the Hungarian capital to attend the Judo Grand-Prix and the FIE World Fencing Championships.

An interesting fact is that the Algerian National Stadium was built after the old Ferenc Puskás Stadium, based on Hungarian designs.
